Architects put their skills to the test in community spirit

Empowered Spaces gives back to the community.

Gicarli Baby and Toddler Centre in Wilgeheuwel recently received a facelift from a Joburg architectural firm who selected the centre as part of their community outreach programme.

Architects from Empowered Spaces spent half the day on 29 September repainting the school’s boundary wall.

“This is a random act of kindness from Empowered Spaces Architects. We came out to help the school and repainted their wall,” said Greg Tunbridge, adding that they were fortunate to receive sponsored paint from a paint company.

“As part of the initiative, we approached Dulux and asked them to help us out. They gave the idea the go-ahead. We also asked Roman’s Pizza to contribute by sponsoring pizzas for the children,” he explained.

Cheryl Howes, the owner of the school, thanked both the architectural company and the other sponsors who for assisted the school and made the day exciting for the children.
