The affected suburbs include Honeydew, Radiokop, Wilgeheuwel and surrounds.
Ward 97 councillor and MMC for Economic Development, Leah Knott, explained that the outage and loss of pressure has been caused by a 300mm burst pipe burst on the corner of Saayman and Paul Kruger Roads, in Harveston Agricultural Holdings.
Joburg Water has had to shut down the supply line to Honeydew and surrounding areas; however, the supply should be restored by 1pm on 21 September.
