Pensioner covered with blanket during house robbery

Victims were told to get into the bed and cover themselves with a blanket during the house robbery.

An 81-year-old pensioner and her domestic worker fell victim to a house robbery in Randpark Ridge when two suspects stormed into the house in broad daylight on 24 August.

According to Honeydew police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the incident took place at 1.10pm.

“The domestic worker and her employer were at home with their door closed, but not locked, when the incident happened,” he said.

He added that the domestic worker witnessed two suspects lifting the motorised gate to gain entry. “She looked for the panic button but it was too late. The suspects came in and put them on the bed and covered them with a blanket,” Muthan explained.
