Another burst pipe affects water supply in Constantia Kloof and surrounds

Emergency shutdown affects Constantia Kloof and parts of Weltevreden Park.

Johannesburg Water has reported that a burst pipe will be affecting water supply to Constantia Kloof and parts of Weltevreden Park on Thursday 17 August.

According to JW’s Twitter account, the pipe was damaged by contractors laying fibre cables on the corner of Jim Fouche Road and Fairview Drive.

Contractors damaging pipes is becoming a major concern in the area. Another main water pipe was recently repaired after being damaged by a construction company at the Nedbank site in Constantia Kloof on 12 August. Many parts of Roodepoort experienced water supply disruptions for a couple of days. However, water tankers were dispatched to the affected areas.

JW has indicated that repairs to the pipe will be completed by 7pm and water supply should be fully restored by 9pm tonight.
