UPDATE: Owner of abandoned car in Little Falls found
LITTLE FALLS – Owner of the abandoned Toyota Fortuner found without registration plates returns to fetch the car.
The owner of a white Toyota Fortuner that was found abandoned in a ditch near Pick n Pay in Little Falls on 21 May, has been found.
Hyperion security personnel reported that the owner was found later that day but the matter is being investigated by police.
The vehicle was found without a number plate by the security company, and police were called to the scene.
Security personnel Demitri Nel told Roodepoort Northsider that the owner apparently got stuck and returned later to fetch the vehicle.
As a crime buster in the area, Nel, at first, suspected the vehicle was stolen.
“My guess [was] that it [was] a stolen car and was left there to see if the car has a tracker or matrix system,” said Nel.
Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said police are aware of the incident and the matter is being investigated.
