Splashing in the sunshine

RADIOKOP – Swimmers of Aquarius Aquatics have family fun in the sun at Charterhouse Preparatory School.

What more could one ask for than warm sunshine and fun, quality time with one’s family in a refreshing pool.

Aquarius Aquatics hosted its inaugural Aqua Splash Fun Gala for its swimmers at Charterhouse Preparatory School in Radiokop.

Swimmers from six months to 17 years of age of the Allen’s Nek-based swim school showcased a wide range of skills learnt from the swim school’s infant aquatics classes, learn-to-swim course and aqua strokes squad.

“The day was about having some fun with the swimmers and their families as an Aquarius Aquatics community,” said the swim school’s CEO, Chris Langley.

“The cake pops and goodie bags we gave away put plenty of smiles on the little ones’ faces – It was delightful to see.” He added that the coaches were able to showcase the swimmers’ progress to proud mums, dads and grandparents who were not always present at the lessons during the year.

“The event itself was blessed with brilliant warmth and sunshine. It was wonderful to see the support of our clients as they arrived in their droves to participate and celebrate with us.”

Langley said it was rewarding to watch families spend time together, especially as parents of the younger swimmers joined their youngsters in the pool to support them in their activities.

Theresa Maneli, mother of Jonathan, one of the young swimmers, said her son had grown in confidence since the gala and now could swim with his head under water.
