Honeydew SAPS embark on awareness project

Pupils came out in numbers to support Honeydew police during a 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign

Honeydew police station got a local school active yesterday morning when they embarked on a march against women and children abuse in Cosmo City.

The pupils, in sponsored gear, created colourful placards with strongly worded messages to draw the attention of motorists and passerby’s in the community.

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan, who was part and parcel of the initiative, expressed his gratitude to the involved school.

“The event was part of 16 days of activism against abuse of women and children. The response was very good. This gave us an indication of the youth’s understanding and concern pertaining to criminal activities in the area,” Muthan said.
