Take note: Road closures in Weltevreden Park

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Road closure for F46 pipeline project.

Residents should take note of a road closure in Weltevreden Park on 21 October.

A planned blasting has been scheduled to take place on 21 October in the Road Reserve next to JG Strydom Road and between Tamarisk Street and Lobelia Avenue for the F46 Rand Water pipeline project. The blasting is necessary to get rid of natural rock in the trenches to make way for the 1.4m steel pipe.

However, due to recent rainfalls, blasting will take place in the trench line in the Road Reserve along JG Strydom Road and between Lobelia Avenue and Harebell Street.

Both Lobelia Avenue and Harebell Street can be accessed on either side of JG Strydom Road, but JG Strydom Road will be closed for the duration of the blasting for safety reasons. The road will be closed from 2pm to 4pm. It is advised that people keep sensitive animals in doors.
