Curro Aurora riders achieve outstanding results

SUNDOWNER – The Curro Aurora team was also the highest point-scoring team in the category of eight to 12 riders.

Curro Aurora riders received top awards at the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) Gauteng West Awards, held on the evening of 24 June at Usambara Lodge.

Nicole Duvenage was awarded the Top Overall High School Rider, as well as the Victrix Ludorum Award for the second year in a row. She was also awarded a gold medal for Performance Riding, a silver medal for Equitation and a silver medal for Working Rider.

Gina Faschin won a gold medal for Prix Caprilli and was awarded as the 9th Top Overall High School Rider.

Megan Ras, from the Curro Aurora Primary equestrian team, also received a top award. Ras was awarded a bronze medal for Performance Riding in the Level 0 category.

Ras’s instructor at Glover Paddocks Equestrian Park (GPEP), Monique Minnaar, said: “I am so proud of Megan – this was an awesome achievement for her first year riding in the Sanesa league.”

The Curro Aurora team was also the highest point-scoring team in the category of eight to 12 riders. These riders train at GPEP in Honeydew.

Kerryn Maher, the owner of GPEP said, “What phenomenal results. These riders have really come a long way.”
