WATCH: Journalists protest against SABC censorship
JOBURG - Journalists march from SABC to Constitution Hill in protest of the suspension of journalists.
Hundreds of journalists were picketing outside the SABC Â offices in Auckland Park this morning in protest to the suspension of three SABC journalists.
The journalists were suspended for disagreeing with an instruction that they were not allowed to cover a Right to Know Campaign picket.
Journalists dressed in black and holding placards reading ‘Show real news’ and ‘Say no to censorship’ gathered outside the SABC from early this morning. They were planning to march from the SABC to Constitution Hill.

In the wake of the ban on covering violence at protests and other censorship, the suspension of journalists, and Jimi Matthew’s resignation, there is massive pressure on Hlaudi Motsoeneng and the movement against him is gaining momentum.
The picket, which started at 9am on 1 July, is only one of two in the country. A vigil at SABC studios in Cape Town also started early this morning.
