MUST READ: The moments leading up to Pelser’s arrest

HONEYDEW – Marthinus Pelser was found near a dustbin at a petrol station in Honeydew.

Marthinus Pelser, the man wanted in connection with the death of his six-month-old baby boy has been arrested.

According to spokesperson for the Honeydew Police, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, Pelser was found near a dustbin at the Sasol garage on Christiaan de Wet Road at about 1.55pm this afternoon (15 June).

In the hours before his arrest, Pelser returned to his home, before leaving again. He is said to have run out of petrol at the intersection of Christiaan de Wet Road and Rooibok Street. Pelser abandoned his vehicle and made his way on foot to the petrol station only a few hundred metres away, where police apprehended him.

Pelser will appear at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 17 June.
