MUST READ: Body of missing estate agent found

RUIMSIG - Body of missing estate agent last seen at Krugersdorp Private Hospital has been found.

The body of a local estate agent was found in the early morning hours next to a stream in Tarlton near Randfontein.

Captain Appel Ernst, communication officer for Randfontein SAPS, explained that a passing motorist was stopped at around 6.45am this morning by school children. He was told that they saw the body of a person in the veld.

“The Police investigated and found the body of a woman in the wetlands next to a stream,” said Capt Ernst. She added that the body fits the description of a woman who went missing in Krugersdorp on Monday, 30 May.

The 52-year-old, Hanle Lategan, an estate agent at Ruimsig Remax Masters, went missing at about 6pm. According to reports she was on her way to show a house in Rant en Dal to clients. According to a distraught colleague, who wanted to stay anonymous, the homeowner received an SMS from Lategan saying that she will be a few minutes late as the clients wanted to pick up their child who also wanted to see the house.

After that she was not heard of again.

Ernst confirmed that she was last seen at Krugersdorp Private Hospital. She added that someone tried to withdraw money from Lategan’s account at around 6:30pm. According to reports after she went missing, her car was found at the hospital. The police are investigating the possibility that cars were swopped with a green Opel Corsa, two door model.

Ernst added that the family of Lategan positively identified her body.
