Pupils from grades 0 to 3 spent a fun day at the glass village, where they learned about wire-work, mosaics, candle-making, sand art and watched glassblower, Vincent Dlamini, at work.

“The pupils loved it, especially having the glassblowing done in front of them, which was a novel experience. The mosaics also went well. They have great facilities as there is a play area for children so we were always entertained,” said St Katharine’s School Grade 2 teacher, Lauren Vogt.

The celebratory week, named ‘C at 43’ after their anniversary and their street address, was centered around South Africa’s heritage. The pupils also visited other sites such as Constitutional Hill and Khanya House in Pretoria.
