Agape pupils donate R3 000

WELTEVREDEN PARK – LIV orphanage receives a generous donation from Agape pupils who opened their hearts and wallets.

Pupils of Agape Christian School in Weltevreden Park opened their hearts and wallets to help children from the LIV orphanage. A branch of the LIV orphanage is in the process of being built in the Lenasia area in Johannesburg.

According to Theresa Jennings from Agape Christian School, the pupils managed to raise R3 000 by donating money. She said the pupils cared so much for the children that they even donated some of their pocket money. The fundraising took place over the first term.

Representatives from the LIV orphanage joined the assembly at Agape on 13 April to receive the generous donation. According to Jennings, the pupils of Agape were very excited to see where the money they collected was going.

LIV is a long-term cluster foster care, where children have a sense of belonging in a home environment, modelling an African village lifestyle. The houses are built in clusters, each with eight homes surrounding a communal play area. Each home has a trained house mother who will have up to six children in her care.
