GDE temporarily suspends online application website

JOHANNESBURG – The system crashed after experiencing over 600 applications per second.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has taken a decision to temporarily suspend the online admissions application website due to unforeseen technical challenges.

The system seemed to have crashed after experiencing over 600 applicantions per second. The department is currently attending to these technical challenges to ensure that the website is up and running by 13 April.

The website aimed at making it more convenient for parents to apply online for schools instead of standing in long queues.

The department appeals for patience while it is working on fixing the technical challenges and apologises for any inconveniences caused.
