New balls donated
FAIRLAND - Company donate netball and rugby balls to Laerskool Fairland to further their sport.
Legacy Homes, a luxury real estate company in Wilgeheuwel donated custom rugby and netball balls to Laerskool Fairland on 16 March.
Henno Mentz, broker and owner of the company said that he is a former sportsman and their company is involved in sports at the school. “We donated 40 netball balls and 50 rugby balls to the school, because we saw that there is a need for it,” said Mentz. The balls were customized with the logo of Legacy Homes and Laerskool Fairland.
Principal, Willie Goosen said that it is good for sponsors to get involved in schools and do their part for the community. “Our success depends on the support that we get from the community, we can’t do it without the support of parents and the community,” said Goosen.
Goosen added that sport plays an important role in the school, but not only sport, academics and culture as well. “We aim to have a balance and teach our pupils that when they are on the field that they have fun and do their best,” concluded Goosen.
