Allen Glen wins the coveted Saheti Seven’s
ALLEN’S NEK –Allen Glen rugby team makes school history.
A triumphant Allen Glen High School U16 rugby team won the coveted Saheti Seven’s Rugby Championship on 28 February.
The game comprises seven games with local rugby schools competing for the coveted win.
The Allen Glen U16 rugby team went into the championship with high spirits and great skills. After a long day filled to the brim with rugby, the team came out victorious.
Captan Cameron Mackrill (hooker) said, “It was a nice moment. It built up our confidence and helped us grow as we lead into the Schools League.” The 8th man, David Omoluwa said winning was a humbling experience after they competed against top rugby schools such as KES.
Fly half, Sino Tshontyi said, “It was a great moment because some of us came from big schools and brought the victory to Allen Glen.”
This is the first time in history that an Allen Glen team has won the championship.
