Oil drum covers pothole

HONEY RIDGE – JRA says the community’s safety is of paramount importance.

A growing pothole on Zeiss Road in Honeydew Ridge has motorists worried.

The pothole in question is on the right-hand side of Zeiss, driving toward the corner of Zafinia Road.

On inspection, the hole seems to be about one metre wide by half a metre deep. Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers said, “The safety of road users is of paramount importance to JRA, as such the area will be secured.”

The pothole has since been secured with a large black drum to warn motorists of the danger. Peters-Scheepers added, “A JRA inspector will be onsite tomorrow to investigate the reported road fault and determine what remedial work is required. We thank the community for bringing this to our attention.”
