Pikitup on strike again

JOBURG – After weeks of waste not being picked up in some areas, Pikitup workers are on strike again.

Workers of Pikitup are allegedly on strike again, because they are not happy with their pay.

Ward 88 Councillor Pat Richards said that Pikitup is on strike again. “Some of the waste in my areas are still not picked up after two weeks,” said Richards.

According to the councillor, workers are planning to march toward the Pikitup head office in Braamfontein.

It was reported earlier that workers of Pikitup were in a sit-in and that the waste removal schedule is back to normal.

Pikitup spokesperson, Jacky Mashapu would not comment over the phone, but is busy working on a press release.
