18 injured in morning collision
STRUBEN’S VALLEY – JMPD is investigating a case of negligent and reckless driving after a collision that left 18 people injured.
A serious accident on the morning of 24 November on Hendrik Potgieter Road near Clearwater Mall left 18 people injured –11 of them seriously injured.
An Opel Corsa bakkie collided with a taxi and the JMPD is investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing explained that seven patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. “ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found patients sitting on the pavement. They are being treated and transported to various hospitals,” said Bodasing.
JMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the driver of the bakkie was seriously injured and 10 passengers from the taxi also sustained serious injuries.
