GALLERY: Organic Life Fair hits West Rand

POORTVIEW – The first ever organic fair hit the West Rand on 9 October and showgoers enjoyed all things organic.

The first ever Organic Life Fair was held at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden – the fair where all things organic were on display from 9 to 11 October.

Fairgoers were treated to a wide range of holistic health treatments, presentations, fitness classes, food and wines as well as a fashion show which promoted organic clothing.

The fair also hosted an organic wine stall as well as a bookshop, coffee and tea booths, mind-body alignment and fitness stalls. An astrologist was also available to read fairgoers’ star charts.

Carlos Papapetrou, an astrologist, said that the fair was about sharing what knowledge they had with the public in order for people to know that when they got sick, they had alternative options. “We, as people, must take responsibility for our own health and illnesses that we pick up. Most people utilise organic treatments right at the end of their illness and my advice is that perhaps they could try the medicinal treatments along with the organic healing treatments,” he said.

He added that organic treatments and lifestyle did not oppose medical treatments but that it was about getting people to feel well naturally.

Trice Mazwi, founder of the Organic Life Fair, said she was inspired to share her organic knowledge with the public after her daughter passed away.

“The Organic Life Fair is all about finding a balance in life as well as celebrating the differences of all cultures across South Africa,” she said.

She added that the fair would soon be travelling to other cities across the country and that Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria and Bloemfontein citizens should be on the lookout as to when the fair would hit their cities. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as some of our exhibitors are giving treatments at a bargain price – anyone who wants to come and see what we are all about is more than welcome,” she added.
