GALLERY: Around the world in one day

POORTVIEW – The King's School West Rand visit the nations of the world in one day.

Pupils of The King’s School West Rand creatively represented different cultures from different nations around the world.

In the spirit of National Heritage Day celebration, on 23 September, the school had a Cultural Day, where pupils and staff paraded in traditional outfits.

Each pupil ‘visited’ a part of the world and had their passport stamped.

Each pupil had to gather information about a relevant country’s culture, tradition and represent it at the school.

In an incredibly bright and colourful day, the pupils manned food stalls, to show their entrepreneurial skills.

Marketing officer Bronwyn Barnard said, “The children did a great job representing all the nations of the world. The food smells really good too.”

Each food stall represented a nation of the world with food delicacies from the represented nation.

Visitors could tried out tacos from Mexico, pancakes from the USA, chicken wraps from Hawaii and the quintessential South African boerewors rolls and slap chips.
