BREAKING NEWS: Boy taken to hospital after four car pile up

HONEYDEW - A young boy was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after being involved in an accident.

A young boy was taken to hospital after a four car pileup that happened on the corner Beyers Naude Drive and Northumberland Avenue 3 September.

Police had yet to arrive on the scene an hour after being called to respond to the accident.

A bakkie, white corolla, a panel van and an Audi were involved in the accident.

The owner of the bakkie who did not want his name to be to mentioned said the car in front of him suddenly braked and he had no time to stop.

“As the traffic lights turned green we all proceeded to cross the intersection when suddenly the car in front of me just stopped which led me to hit the corolla which hit the panel van which hit the Audi,” he said.

He blamed the taxi’s that pick up passengers on the intersection for the pile up, saying that the taxi drivers just weren’t careful when they stopped.

He added that he had to move his car out of the oncoming traffic to avoid further catastrophe.

The driver of the Audi pointed out that he had called the police immediately when the accident happened and was still waiting for the police to arrive and take their statements.

“I am now going to have to get a lift that will take me there.
