GALLERY and VIDEO: Move over, Mr Wonka

The Coffee and Chocolate Expo opened for another year on 16 July at Montecasino. Vendors, though weary from their final day of setting up, welcomed the public enthusiastically and the energy was palpable.

For anyone familiar with the expo, this year seems to be bigger with a greater variety of stalls available. Not only were the stalwart coffee and chocolate stalls available but so were cleaning products, a variety of food stalls, confectionery, cheese and caparinha, for those wanting a bit more variety.

The expo has also become more hands-on than before with some of the following activities available:

• Coffee theatre: The audience can join baristas while learning about the origins, roasting and pouring of pure coffee beans – a must for coffee lovers. This is presented by Foghound Interactive Coffee Company.
• Chocolate workshop: Get involved with creating a chocolate bar to your unique specifications, from base to toppings, with the team at My Chocolate.
• Pairing workshop: Find out what chocolates work best with the alcohol of your choice which will no doubt impress guests as well as increase your chocolate knowledge.
