RUIMSIG – Eagle 5s has a zero tolerance policy which allows players to compete peacefully.

Eagle 5s Soccer Club hosted a sports exhibition on 26 June to get players to know each other and embrace the sport’s qualities. The event was also open for the public to enquire about the club’s offerings and how they could join.

The sport exhibition was held simultaneously with a social gathering at Ruimsig Country Club and various soccer clubs played 10-minute soccer matches for fun and entertainment. One of the club owners, Francois Collinson said, “Normally during the week, players play fierce competitive games for our soccer league, but today it is a matter of socialising through sports.”

Although it was not formal, women’s clubs battled it out with the men, signifying the integration within the clubs.

Collinson explained that Eagle 5s has a zero-tolerance policy to keep their games peaceful, entertaining and competitive. “We encourage our players to avoid swearing while competing in our league,” he said.

Some of the club’s veterans also attended the exhibition. Steve Botha, club co-owner, said the event could strengthen their league and provided an opportunity for the public to join.
