Maragon’s talented bunch

RUIMSIG — Seven pupils of Maragon received their SA colours in the performing arts.

Maragon Private Schools boast seven pupils from both the primary and secondary schools at Ruimsig who earned themselves a bounty of awards at the Talent Africa Nationals held at the Roodepoort Theatre, Pro-Musica Auditorium.

Their flawless stage performances secured them selection as part of Team SA. They will now jet off to the ‘Big Apple’ to participate in the international round of the competition at Talent America from 5 to 17 June.

These seven students were awarded their Gauteng colours, SA colours, certificates, medals and trophies as follows:

Primary school

Anastasia Leontiou (Grade 7): six gold and five silver medals

Charnay Bean (Grade 4): 10 gold, nine silver and one bronze medal

Hanno Janse van Vuuren (Grade 5): four gold and four silver medals

Luca Roets (Grade 4): eight gold, five silver and one bronze medal

Tatiana Leontiou (Grade 4): nine gold and seven silver medals

Tatiana and Luca also won the Best Concept Award for their dialogue of Cinderella Ella.

High school

Jordon Pereira (Grade 9):10 gold and six silver medals

Waldo Christen (Grade 9): 11 gold and six silver medals.
