Man hit and killed by taxi

A man has been killed his morning after he was hit by a taxi on Hendrik Potgieter Road under the Christiaan De Wet bridge close to Clearwater Mall.

ER24 paramedics from the Johannesburg West branch arrived on scene and found the male patient lying in the middle of the road. The taxi had stopped a few metres away on the side of the road.

On assessment of the patient, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained fatal injuries to his head and chest. Unfortunately nothing could be done for the patient and he was declared dead.

It is understood that the pedestrian failed to notice the oncoming vehicle.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
