Curro experience the legend of Tutankhamun

MULDERSDRIFT — The Tutankhamun exhibition fascinates pupils of Curro Krugersdorp Private School.

Pupils from the Curro Krugersdorp Private School in Rangeview gathered at Silverstar Casino for the Tutankhamun exhibition on 17 February.

Several Grade 6 and 7 pupils along with their educators were more than thrilled to learn more about the late Pharoah.

“This is part of our curriculum for the Grade 5s. It is a great way for them to get a better understanding of what is going on with their work,” said educator Pieter van Heerden.

The tomb and treasures of Tutankhamen have gained popularity at Silverstar since December and that same momentum has been extended to classrooms on the West Rand.

With audio guidance, the pupils listened intently and certainly showed interest in the artefacts and replicas of the treasures. “I think this was a marvellous piece and the whole exhibition is awesome,” said Grade 5 pupil, Dawid Burger.

Moving from the antechamber, coffin and treasury chambers, pupils (and teachers) gasped with intrigue and Keara van der Colff added, “The treasures are very interesting and I am more curious now about Tutankhamun, his reign and his life.”
