Joint efforts bring down Muldersdrift crime

MULDERSDRIFT – A much-needed decrease in crime when the community and officials work together.

The recent crime numbers in Muldersdrift are proof that a community that works together for one purpose, gets effective results.

Muldersdrift Communication Action Group (MCAG) Security revealed a 30 per cent drop on general crime since December 2014. MCAG’s spokesperson Mike Francois says, the teamwork between Muldersdrift Police, the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and security companies made a positive impact toward the common goal of a crime-free community.

“The proactive relationship between the community and the police has led to a number of excellent leads resulting in the apprehension, arrest and sentencing of gangs operating in the area.”

Spokesperson for Muldersdrift Police, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya said it is beneficial that community members continue to work with police officials in the fight against crime.

“Due to the partnership between the police and community members and with the operations that were conducted, we are pleased with the decrease in crime. The initiation from the station commander and community members improved this partnership and dramatically helped in the fight against crime.”

Drift Reaction is one such security company that has been at the forefront in the fight against crime in Muldersdrift. CEO Jarques Treptow said working with police detectives and conducting extensive investigations have helped get the bad guys off the streets.
