Meal vouchers for Christmas cops

HONEYDEW – CPF urges community to donate money that will help to buy meal vouchers for officers who work on 25 December.

The Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) decided to do something good for the officials and police officers who will be working on Christmas Day.

“We have decided to give every officer who works on 25 December a meal voucher, so that they can buy themselves a nice breakfast or lunch or use it with their family the next day,” said CPF executive committee member Jon Rosenberg.

According to Carmel Wassman who is also involved in the Honeydew CPF, the next step is to raise enough donations to buy meal vouchers for these officers.

“We opened a bank account where residents and companies can go and pay in their donations and we ask them to add their names as a reference.”

She mentioned that in 2013 the officers received meal vouchers from Nando’s.

“These officers work extremely hard and they protect us over the festive period so I think it’s a worthy cause and we urge each and every resident to donate,” said Rosenberg.

“Money can be paid into the CPF account at Nedbank Randridge Mall and the branch code is 151405, the account number is 1514210673. We please ask that every person who pays money in to use the following reference ‘Christmas fund and his/her name’. Our officers will appreciate the meal vouchers,” concluded Wassman.
