Young woman nabbed for possession
FLORIDA PARK — Police operations led to the successful arrest of a young woman in possession of drugs.
A woman (22) was arrested on 18 October after she was caught with a transparent plastic containing a white substance.
The arrest was made during police operations conducted around the Florida policing area at the weekend. According to Captain Lydia Mtila- Dikolomela, a foreign national was spotted next a grey VW Polo with two occupants inside. “The man ran away the minute he saw the police vehicle. We approached the woman and asked to see what the man had given her because our officers had witnessed a “transaction,” said Capt Mtila-Dikolomela.
The suspect was detained in police cells and is expected to appear at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon on charges of possession of an illegal substance.
The police are encouraging community members to come forward and report any suspicious and illegal activities.
