Trinityhouse books spot in the National School Quiz Championship Finals

RUIMSIG— The team from Trinityhouse walked away with mini-tablets and booked their spot in National School Quiz championships after beating three local schools in Saturday's preliminary finals

Trinityhouse High School Randpark Ridge won the preliminary finals of the National School Quiz Championship, hosted at Monash University on 23 August.

Trinityhouse battled against Monument High School, Shangri-La Academy and Springs Girls High Schools during three rounds of questions by the quizmaster.

The prelims were shot in front of live cameras for their television debut on Mindset Channel in September.

With a no-nonsense quizmaster, the pupils answered general knowledge, history-related and maths questions to go through to the next round of the finals.

Ultimately, the Trinityhouse team – that consisted of Sean Elliot, Ally Dabic and Jon Jon Jenk – went on to secure their spot in the national finals, set to take place in December at Carnival City.

“We are proud of all the teams that took part, naturally, and have been impressed by the talent throughout the competition. We just want to take the opportunity to encourage South African Pupils to read and learn more about our history as a country,” urged the quizmaster.

The Trinityhouse team walked away with mini tablets which will surely assist them in the next round of the competition.

Ian P Venganai, creator of the NSQC brand, said the prelims had been set as preparation in anticipation for the national championships and give the participants the beforehand experience on how the tournament will run in December.

“Our NSQC dream is to celebrate academic excellence in the country and we look forward to hosting the winning teams at the end of the year with our partners and of course. We wish the best for the final four,” he concluded.
