Well represented at athletics championships

Maragon pupil Crystal Wills took the eight spot at the recent South African Athletics Championships.

To be placed eighth out of 26 was a big achievement, considering that the best Javelin athletes competed at the competition.

“I threw my personal best of 24.90 meters at the competition and all three athletes from Gauteng made it into the top eight,” Wills said.

Maragon spokesperson Belinda Espag praised Crystal’s achievement.

“We are very proud of Crystal, as well as the overall Gauteng achievement. A special thank you to Gerda Kies, the Gauteng Manager for the U12 Team, who accompanied Wills to the Championships.”
