Picnic with grandparents

POORTVIEW - Grandparents day a big success.

Rainy weather did not deter eager grandparents from spending the morning with their grandchildren at the annual Kings School West Rand picnic.

“It is an honour and a privilege to have grandparents day at the school,” Grade R teacher Monica Behrens said.

“We feel that grandparents play such an important role in the lives of their grandchildren and we wanted to thank them and treat them at the event.”

Kings School West Rand spokesperson Abigail Kapeza expressed her surprise by the number of grandparents that attended the day.

“I got a fright when I saw the cloudy weather and we had to go to plan B and move the picnic indoors. But it was still a big success.”

The school’s principal Ken Langley said he wanted to thank each grandparent who made time and made the day memorable.
