Femininity celebrated with Lady Rocci

NORTHSIDE - Women in business network over breakfast at Val Verde Country Hotel.

Business women on the West Rand are certainly held in high esteem by the Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci), and this was to be seen on 14 March.

A Lady Rocci meeting was held at Val Verde Country Hotel, Muldersdrift, where business executives of a more feminine persuasion enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast while networking and listening to inspirational talks. Simon Bruinders, who was named emcee for the morning, shared quotes from his new book called The Sideboard.

The charity supported on the morning was Randburg-based MobieG. This ground breaking social networking system offers access to anyone in dire need to counselling and advice on matters like addiction, abuse, pregnancy, trauma, suicide and domestic violence, to name a few.

“This system gives anyone, anywhere, unprecedented access to qualified councillors and social workers and any given time of the day,” said MobieG chairperson Stephanie Crouse. “Children get access for free.”

Also speaking at the event was Ruimsig’s very own Armand Du Plessis, Mr South Africa 2014 contestant. Du Plessis reiterated his passion for charities in the Roodepoort Northside area, and what he plans to achieve in the next few months. “My heartfelt thanks for Lady Rocci’s support, not just for myself, but for what they have done for our society as a whole.”

Motivational speaker Jannie Putter, discussed how to make worthwhile decisions, not only in business, but life in general. “The pain of immediate personal discipline weighs mere ounces,” he philosophised. “But the pain of regret in the long term, when it’s too late, weighs tonnes.”

After the morning’s formalities were concluded, the ladies enjoyed a hot cup of coffee (or tea if they preferred) while swooning to the sounds of pianist Jaco Niemand.
