Family’s German Shepherd allegedly taken from suburban street

Dog allegedly ran out towards a security company vehicle.

Safety and security have no greater symbol than that of the German Shepherd. Trusted by police units around the world, the faith in this particular breed trickles down to the average homeowner looking for peace of mind.

A Roodepoort family is longing to be reunited with their furry companion after their dog was allegedly taken from the street they live in. While away on business, Shalom Mabuza received a call that their newly adopted German Shepherd had been picked up by a security company, but was not brought back to the house.

“My daughter opened the gate and the dog went out without her noticing. After realising the dog had gone out, they tried to chase her. They saw two vehicles, a white sedan and a vehicle belonging to our security company. I suspect security picked her up because she loves a ride in a car,” said Mabuza, recounting his daughter’s version of events.

‘Chunky’ is a three-year-old female and has the familiar coat associated with the breed. The alleged incident happened on the Ontdekkers Service Road in Carenvale at roughly 2 pm on 21 February. “The dog is new, not yet familiar with our area. We just bought her in January. She was New Year’s present for my kids because they are dog lovers,” the father explained. Anyone with any information on the incident or the whereabouts of the dog is asked to contact Shalom Mabuza at shalommabuza7@gmail.com.

The security company is aware of the matter and is actively searching for the lost animal.
