The mini-mes of Scouts

The 1st Eagles Meerkats will allow you to bond with your bundle of joy while laying the foundations for their early childhood development.

1st Eagles Scout Group may not have been around as long as some of the other Scouts South Africa groups, but they are just as dynamic, beneficial, fun, and educational.

Since 2002 the Witpoortjie-based group has been achieving milestone after milestone and presenting hard-earned badges to their Cubs and Scouts.

Education and early childhood development are essential to grow the minds of new generations. However, sometimes there needs to be a bit more of a push to do this. Scouts South Africa identified the necessity for a programme to address a child’s developmental needs, and as such, in early 2019 plans were put into place to try and fill this need.

Scouts South Africa’s youth programme previously only catered for ages seven to 11 (Cubs), ages 11 to 18 (Scouts), and ages 18 to 30 (Rovers). But, to fill the need they had identified, Meerkats officially became a part of the Scouts SA programme in October 2019.

The Meerkats branch caters for children between the ages of five and seven, and focuses on their developmental needs. The 1st Eagles Scouts Group will be launching their Meerkats branch with an open day on 14 March.

If you are a parent who would like to spend some quality time with your bundle of joy while they develop good foundations and skills for the future, then make sure you attend the open day.

The open day will be held at the 1st Eagles Scouts Hall on Jan van Rooyen Street in Witpoortjie from 9am to 10.30am and is not to be missed. This isn’t a drop-off-and-go group though; the 1st Eagles Meerkats is a place where parents can bond with their children while they learn valuable lessons and have fun.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to see exactly what the 1st Eagles Meerkats are about. RSVP by 7 March. To RSVP or to find out more about the open day, contact Charlene on 081 444 5597 or Eloise on 083 323 8644.
