Help the CLAWbies celebrate Christmas

'Support goes a long way towards helping CLAW serve the communities and animals in their surrounding areas.'

The well-known paw lovers at the Community Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) organisation are seeking help to support the staff members, the local poorer communities and their pets.

The community can reach out a helping hand by donating the equipment that CLAW is in desperate need of to take care of all the CLAWbies (rescued dogs).

“There are many instances where sick dogs arrive in wheelbarrows as these poor people have no transport. The kids find clever ways to make cages to bring in their cats. Support goes a long way to helping CLAW serve the communities and animals in their surrounding areas,” Cora Bailey, CLAW founder, humanitarian and animal activist, said.

The wish list of items needed to take care of the community and animals who are rescued or strays, can go on forever, but the most important items that they need are:

• The CLAW Toyota bakkie that has to fetch and drop off sick animals is in need of a service

• Buckets on wheels

• Scissors (Big or small)

• Metal or plastic dog transport crates

• Elastoplast rolls, bandages, Chlorhexidine disinfectant, 3ml or 5ml syringes, 21/ 23 size gauge needles, thermometers (all available from Dis-chem)

• F10 Disinfectant Spray and F10 Sterilant

• Collars and Leads

“If any readers have old cellular phones, our staff are always in need of phones especially as we rely on being able to contact the team if they are on a call out or an outreach for the day. As part of our Christmas hampers for the dedicated and hardworking staff, we would love to include non-perishable items such as tinned food, oil, rice, pasta, soup as well as any toiletries,” said Cora.

Any of the above-mentioned items will go a long way towards helping to give the CLAWbies the best possible life.
