Word of the day

The word of the day for 10 November is: luck.

The word of the day for 10 November is: luck.

‘Luck’ is defined as success or failure brought by chance rather than through one’s actions.

It is more of an idea than a reality – there is a cause and effect to everything, and sometimes we just happen to be on the receiving end of a good effect.

Baltasar Gracián said, “There are rules to luck, not everything is by chance. To the wise, luck can be helped by skill.”

Thomas Jefferson echoed these sentiments when speaking about his achievements, saying, “I am a great believer in luck, and I find that the harder I work, the more I have of it.”

If you work hard then you will benefit from it. You cannot expect success from luck, you need to work for it.

Brian Tracey said, “I’ve found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances, be more active, and show up more often.”

There is a Japanese proverb that says that the day you decide to do it is your lucky day.

Stop procrastinating and take the first step, then you will find luck.
