Under the circumstances, and through the heartache, families often forget to say thank you to the very first people that were at the scene, called it in and even watched and waited to make sure nothing is tampered with.
Thank you to the woman who contacted the Horison Block Watch on Friday, 11 October 2019. Thank you to the tow-truck driver that came to look and contacted my uncle and went one step further to fetch my uncle. Thank you to the wonderful service rendered by the Roodepoort Police Station. None of you know what it meant that complete strangers showed so much understanding, concern and unity on what would become the most difficult challenge in our family’s life.
This is from my family to you. No names, just a thank you. You know who you are. Humility and humble beginnings begin with a community that cares.
