One arrest has been made after a Witpoortjie resident was stabbed by intruders on Monday, 7 October

The station commander at the Roodepoort Police Station, Brigadier Kuboni, extended her gratitude to the community for their assistance in the arrest.

It has been confirmed by the Roodepoort Police Spokesperson, Captain Juanita-Anne Yorke, that a case has been opened pertaining to three suspects who attempted to break into a Witpoortjie residence on Monday, 7 October.

It has been reported that a young male was at home at the time of the attempt, leading to him being injured. A case of attempted housebreaking and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm has been opened.

One suspect was arrested on Monday in connection with the case and has since appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court.

The station commander at the Roodepoort Police Station, Brigadier Kuboni, extended her gratitude to the community for their assistance in the arrest. “Your forever availability in such matters cannot be overlooked. Let’s join hands as we rid our area of any criminal element which would compromise the safety and security of our community; together we can make a difference.”

The Roodepoort Police are currently investigating the circumstances and following up on all leads and information received. Anyone who may have information about the case is asked to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Mudau, on 011 279 6400.
