Born as Thomas Jacob Black, he is an American actor, comedian, musician, media personality and songwriter.

He is well known for starring in comedy films.

Black is best known for his roles in High Fidelity, School of Rock, Shallow Hal, King Kong and the Kung Fu Panda among others.

He was recognised for his amazing work in School of Rock and Bernie. Black gained Golden Globe nominations, and was inducted into Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 2018.

He is the lead vocalist of the Grammy Award-winning comedic rock duo Tenacious D which he formed in 1994 with friend Kyle Gass.

The duo has released the albums Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny, Rize of the Fenix, and Post-Apocalypto.

In 2012, Black endorsed Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

He has also visited Kampala in Uganda, as part of Comic Relief United State of America’s Red Nose Day.

In 2018, Black created a YouTube channel, Jablinski Games, which currently has over 4 million subscribers and 51 million views.
