Be on the look out when travelling in Witpoortjie

BE ON THE LOOKOUT WHEN TRAVELLING IN WITPOORTJIE

On Monday, 15 July, while I was walking home, a certain car kept driving back and forth past me. Later, there was a man and a woman in a different spot, waiting for me to pass by. The man dropped some fake money between me and the woman, who saw it and tried to pick it up. I stopped her, and wanted to call the man who had dropped it, but before I could think, my handbag had been snatched and they both ran off to the car that had been driving around earlier. Its number plate was CCW 634 GP.

The following week, I was at the Vooma Garage in Witpoortjie, waiting for my husband to pick me up, when a petrol attendant said the same people had done the same thing to other people as well.

I’m very concerned about this matter as it was traumatic. I just want to warn all women to be careful and to be on the lookout for these people and car. I don’t want more people to become victims of this crime, which happens mostly from the Vooma Garage up to Quellerie Street.
