Canoe marathon championships around the corner
Official trials for selection of the SA Team will also take place at this event
Gauteng Paddlers are busy preparing for participation in the upcoming SA Canoe Marathon Championships that will be taking place from 15–17 June.
The marathon championships will be held at the Cradle Moon Lake, and is open to paddlers from U/8 all the way through to great-grand-masters, with each category racing a different distance.
To qualify for participation at this event, Gauteng paddlers will have to compete in the Gauteng Marathon Championships that will be taking place on 1 and 2 June at the Florida Lake Canoe Club.
Those selected to represent their province at the SA Canoe Marathon event will also have the opportunity to participate in the official trials for selection to the National South African Team, to compete at the World
Championships in Shaoxing, China.
