Florida’s next top model reaches for the stars

She has always been passionate about helping people in need.

Young, beautiful and gifted finalist for Toddler and Tween of the World SA 2019, Koketso Kau, graced the stage at St John Apostle Catholic Church when she did a presentation about autism awareness on Sunday, 7 April. The presentation is part of her journey as a finalist.

The 12-year-old Koketso is currently in Grade 8 at Florida Park High School and she has always been passionate about helping people in need. “For me, this pageant is not only about winning and getting the prize money. I also want to use it as a platform to help disadvantage families. If I can walk from this pageant, knowing that there is a family that I have helped, then I will feel like a winner,” said Koketso.

In addition to modelling, Koketso’s hobbies are reading and cooking. She is a confident, humble girl who finds it easy to interact with other children.

On Saturday, 4 May, Koketso will be hosting a beauty pageant of her own – Mr & Miss Future Leaders 2019 – at Makhaya Hall in Soweto to raise funds. “The proceeds from the pageant will be used to help an identified disadvantaged family,” Koketso said.
