Roodepoort/Little Falls — Members from various Lions Clubs got together at Pick ‘n Pay The Falls recently, to host their annual Cansa Shavathon.

According to Sandy van Heerden, the Lions Clubs’ Public Relations Officer, all seven clubs in Zone 1 (from Roodepoort to Randfontein) showed their support for this worthy cause.

Some Lions Clubs representatives seen on the day were the Zone chairperson, Rowan Tuckitt, from the Clearwater Cyber Links Club, and Claudia and Jonquille Bands from the Helderkruin Lions Club.

Sandy added that the community also opened their hearts (and wallets) in support of this worthy cause, leaving with bright, colourful heads.

Susan Labuschagne from the Wilro Park Lions Club presented a Certificate of Service to Pick ‘n Pay manager, Ambra Jardim, to thank them for their support during the Cansa Shavathon.

During the Shavathon, Pick ‘n Pay shoppers could also show their support for the Wilro Park Lions’ food collection, and Sandy said, “We want to thank everyone for their support of our food collection and helping us to help others. All food collected will go towards our school feeding scheme and senior citizen food parcels.”
