Ten injured in Florida accident

Three children among the injured

Ten people, including three children, were injured this morning, 23 January, following an accident at the Goldman and Sauer Street intersection.

A minibus taxi collided with a light motor vehicle.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 7.42am, Provincial Services were already in attendance.

“A taxi and light motor vehicle were found still in the road, facing oncoming traffic. The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicles and were on the side of the road. Paramedics assessed the victims, and found that 10 people, including three young children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. They were treated and thereafter transported to various hospitals for further treatment,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.

The exact cause of the incident was not know, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
