Carols by candlelight lit up by stars at Garden World

The show lasted a little longer than an hour, and saw South African entertainment veterans such as Lizz Meiring, Frank Opperman, Wynand van Vollenstee, and many more.

Garden World’s third annual Carols by Candlelight event in aid of the TBF was a roaring success as people packed the hall to see the star-studded line-up perform.

For the last three years, Garden World has managed to bring together some of the country’s most prominent performers, artists, and presenters in aid of the Theatre Benevolent Fund (TBF), the country’s only welfare fund that seeks to take care of members of the theatre industry in South Africa.

They once again came together in the Christmas spirit, as the performers belted out some classic as well as custom spins on good old Christmas Carols.

The event was led by David Louw and Kaz McFadden, two charismatic and hilarious presenters, who made sure to keep the crowd in high spirits. Guests in the crowd were treated to food such as boerewors rolls before the show, and there was a bar available as well, to make sure no one went hungry or thirsty. There was also a souvenir stand where guests could purchase items, with all proceeds going to the TBF.

The show lasted a little longer than an hour, and saw South African entertainment veterans such as Lizz Meiring, Frank Opperman, Wynand van Vollenstee, and many more on stage. The crowd in attendance fell in love with the performers and often found themselves either singing or humming along to the songs being performed (if they weren’t dancing).
