SAWS warns of Gauteng heatwave

People should make sure to hydrate.

According to the South African Weather Service, Gauteng residents are finding themselves in the middle of a heatwave that will last until tomorrow (19 September).

High temperatures will persist and residents are advised to remain indoors from 7am until 5pm. A very hot and sunny Johannesburg will reach a high of 32° today, and tomorrow will see a minimum of 12° and a maximum of 34°. The UVB sunburn index will be extreme and the fire danger will be high.

Residents must take extra precautions for the very young and the elderly, as well as their pets. Make sure they remain hydrated.
