Company helps to keep Roodepoort girls in school

Handover at Dorah’s Ark restores dignity

The young girls and female staff members at Dorah’s Ark Children’s Home received a welcome gift recently.

Kasturi Adari of Anglo Ameican and her team rallied within the company to raise money in order to buy each girl a FloKit from Palesa Pads. The kit contains six re-usable sanitary pads, a bucket and cleaning materials.

“The pads are made from high quality fabric and can be washed and re-used for up to five years, a girl’s entire high school career. We were looking for a sustainable, eco-friendly solution, and were happy to find Palesa Re-usable Sanitary Pads. They do not contribute to land fill and can easily be washed and re-used each month, saving a girl thousands of rands,” Kasturi said.

The recipients of these donations were very happy and grateful for the gift, as it contributes to restoring their dignity, and helps them to not miss unnecessary school days.
